Brief Project Presentation
This multidisciplinary project, based on the work "Contos de Fajão" and the emblematic figure of Monsignor Nunes Pereira, includes the creation of a theater and music show, with plans for an extensive tour focusing especially on the Coimbra region.
It also includes the release of an original phonographic work, containing an adaptation of the play, in physical and online format, as well as some mediation and training activities in the municipality of Pampilhosa da Serra.
Sinopse
Beyond the collection of stories centered on the village of Fajão and its long history, the project is based on the work "Os Contos de Fajão" (The Tales of Fajão), a collection of ancestral stories gathered by Monsignor Nunes Pereira, characterized by a biting and caricatural humor, sometimes bordering on the absurd, with a profound cultural, anthropological, and philosophical significance that makes them truly timeless and universal. Blending theater and music, the show recreates the peculiar atmosphere of this village lost in the mountains, presenting us with a world apart, with its own customs and traditions, where, despite a certain anarchy reigning, destiny takes care of solving all problems, restoring the natural order of life.

Sinopse
Bicicletica is a surprising and totally original machine, operated by three "musician-cyclists". Besides providing propulsion for the vehicle, each rack powers a different device: a blender, a washing machine, a dryer, and a fan. It also comes equipped with a solar panel and a battery charger, forming a fully autonomous self-sufficiency solar kit. Connected to a power converter, the battery powers the sound system.
The show continues the project "The Last One to Turn on the Light," the company's most recent theatrical production (also dedicated to the theme of Energy), establishing a practical exchange with Science, showcasing surprising devices composed of original mechanical systems.
Interaction with the audience and humor are a constant in this show, which is part of a multidisciplinary aesthetic line, associated with music, clowning, object theater, and the invention of unique contraptions.
With a strong educational focus, the project seeks to raise awareness about the urgent need to rationalize energy resources while simultaneously promoting the use of bicycles.
Characters and repertoire
The show is composed of short theatrical and musical scenes that connect with each other or can be performed separately.
The first scene consists of the theme song, which introduces the BICYCLE and its characters: three brothers, Joaquim Agostinho Câmara de Ar (singer and guitarist), Alves Barbosa Baqueta Câmara de Ar (percussionist), and Marcos Chagas Bochecha Câmara de Ar (trumpet player). The remaining scenes musically present the different contraptions, also addressing issues related to the theme of energy resources used in everyday life.
The music, all original, is very diverse, encompassing musical genres such as Jazz, Blues, Afrobeat, and Samba.
Team
The show is performed by the company's director, David Cruz (guitar and vocals, actor/musician, composer and instrumentalist with over 3 decades of professional experience) and the young musicians Nuno Justino (percussion, instrumentalist with a degree in jazz from ESMAE) and Nuno Rodrigues (trumpet, instrumentalist with a degree in jazz from the Lisbon Higher School of Music).
